The client, a leading scanning company in the UK, sought to convert over 5000 residential houses into a BIM model for Energy Analysis. They needed updated 3D BIM models that could be utilized for energy calculations and to identify suitable types of renewable energies. Recognizing nCircle's expertise in Scan to BIM and Automation, the client turned to us. We showcased the capabilities of our ML engine, demonstrating its prowess in automatically converting scan data into 3D models.
In response to the client's objective of exploring retrofits for enhanced energy efficiency, we delivered 3D BIM models for residential houses, encompassing all the essential details required for comprehensive Energy Analysis. The plan included potential retrofits such as the installation of solar panels, air-operated heat pumps, and wall insulation. These measures aimed to retain heat within the houses, ultimately minimizing heat loss and significantly increasing energy efficiency.
The UK-based scanning company is capturing housing data effectively using scanners and drones to help energy companies for making Energy Efficient houses. They have been working with one of the Largest Energy companies in the UK, which is committed to implementing the Net Zero target, supporting COP26 initiatives, and reducing energy consumption. This is achieved by adding an insulating layer to walls in order to help climate efficiency by decreasing heat dissipation and utilizing renewable sources like Solar Energy as a substitute.
The main challenge for the client was a turnaround time which was 3 days per house including the BIM model, sheet work, and quantification. Extraction of quantification data to get details like room names, room sizes, wall thickness, roof, slopes, etc was a time-consuming process. Also, achieving 5mm accuracy with point cloud data was difficult.
The nCircle tech offered a perfect solution to digitize existing residential buildings and turn them into sustainable homes. Our ML-powered Scan to BIM is quick, easy, and offers an accurate 3D BIM model. This allows us to make informed decisions about energy efficiency and sustainability improvements.
nCircle demonstrated how ML engines can automatically create 3D models from scan data which helped the client understand our workflow and the expertise of our skilled team. Following this, we presented several Revit automation plugins which we created for other projects. They opted to associate with us because of our ability to do a large quantity of work in the shortest period of time and our expertise in the desired field.
nCircle Tech helped the client to extract all the necessary details regarding Energy Consumption calculations for making sustainable and energy-efficient houses by offering effective solutions. Our ML-powered Scan to BIM, Quantification, and QC checks helped to enhance the overall productivity by more than 25%. Using our ML engine and automation expertise we could turn around every house within 48 hours which includes 3D models, floor plans, and quantifications.
nCircle Tech has developed Automation solutions as well as plugins for evaluating the Energy Consumption of every house in order to install appropriate energy alternatives.
